Before Your Session
The booking fee, explained
14 June 2026 · 5 min read

Let's talk about money plainly, because you deserve that.
When a studio is vague about price, it usually means a surprise is coming. We don't work that way, and this post exists so that nothing about the financial side of your experience is a mystery. By the time you arrive, you should know exactly how this works and feel completely at ease. That is the whole point of writing it down.
What the booking fee actually reserves
The booking fee is not the price of your photographs. It is the fee that holds your place and sets the whole experience in motion. It covers real things, all of which happen before a single image is ever sold:
- Your onboarding and creative calls, where we plan your looks, talk through what matters to you and design the day around you. This is where we walk you through everything, openly and unhurried. - Hair and make-up by our professional team on the day of your session - The session itself, fully directed, unhurried, with our photographer and crew giving you their complete attention - One complimentary fine-art mounted print, valued at £300, included for you to keep - The studio and the day, held in your name. When we reserve a date for you, we turn other women away for it. The fee protects that time so it is genuinely, exclusively yours.
In other words, the booking fee buys you the experience and the artistry that goes into making the images. It is not a deposit against your photographs, and it is not a fee to "see if we like you". It reserves something real.
Why we work application-first
You may have noticed we ask you to apply rather than simply checking out a date online. That is deliberate, and it is in your favour.
We take a limited number of women each month so that every guest gets the unhurried, fully styled experience our work depends on. An application lets us make sure the timing, the planning and the experience are genuinely right for you before anyone commits. It also means that when we do speak, the conversation is personal rather than a hard sell from a stranger. We would rather have a smaller number of women who feel completely looked after than a full diary of rushed sessions.
Where the rest of the pricing is shared
Here is the question everyone is really asking: what about the photographs themselves?
Full collection pricing is shared openly and in writing, before or during your onboarding call. That is well before your shoot, and long before any decision needs to be made. Nothing is held back for the day of the reveal, and there is no pressure tactic waiting at the end. You will know the numbers while you are calm, with all the time in the world to think.
To set your expectations clearly, right here, right now:
- Collections start from £1,000. - Most of our guests invest between £2,000 and £4,000 on the artwork they choose to keep. - You decide. There is no minimum spend beyond your collection choice, and you only ever invest in the images you love.
We share these figures publicly on purpose. You should never have to guess whether this fits your life. You can do that maths today, calmly, long before you sit down with us.
"Is this a hidden-cost trap?"
It is a fair question, and the honest answer is no. A trap relies on you not knowing the numbers until it is too late to change your mind. We do the opposite:
- You know the booking fee before you book. - You know where collections start and what most women invest before you book. - You see full pricing, in writing, before or during your onboarding call, well before your session. - You only ever pay for the images you actually want.
There is no moment in this process where a bigger number quietly appears. Everything is on the table early, by design.
Why we will never pressure you
Most photography studios work the other way around. They keep their pricing vague, let the emotion build, and then reveal the numbers on the day you see your images, when feelings are running highest. It is the standard playbook in this industry. We think it is the wrong way to treat a woman, and the wrong way to build anything that lasts.
We are building something far bigger than a single shoot. Our ambition is a women's empowerment brand with a global reach, and a community you can belong to for years: your sessions, our events, our retreats, the coaching, the whole world we are building around you. Pressuring you into artwork you do not truly want would undermine every part of that. It would not serve you, and it would not serve us.
So we simply do not do it. Our art curators are there to guide you, gently and honestly, to exactly what you want. No more, no less. Choosing your images should be the best part of the whole experience, never the catch at the end of it.
Finance, so the timing fits
Because these are pieces you may keep for the rest of your life, we offer finance options that let you spread the cost into comfortable monthly payments. Plenty of our guests choose this route, not because they cannot invest, but because it lets the timing suit them rather than the other way around. We will talk you through it openly, with no assumptions and no judgement, as part of your onboarding call.
The short version
The booking fee reserves your experience: your onboarding and creative calls, the styling, the team's time, a complimentary fine-art print and a day held only for you. The artwork is a separate, fully transparent decision you make later, with all the numbers in front of you. Collections start from £1,000, most guests invest £2,000 to £4,000, and finance is there if it helps.
That is the entire model. No riddles, no fine print, no pressure. Just respect for your time and your judgement.
When you are ready, apply for your Body & Soul Experience and we will arrange your onboarding call, where every one of these numbers is yours to see and yours to decide on.
